Accident Investigation
Session 1 Preview
Occupational health and safety practitioners are tasked with protecting the life and health of workers, visitors and all persons that may be affected by the activities of the organization. Unfortunately, workplace accidents do occur despite the implementation of the most ambitious health and safety management system and strict conformance to the Occupational Safety and Health Act Chapter 88:08. During the period 2006 to 2015, one hundred and two persons lost their lives in tragic workplace accidents (approximately 10.2 deaths per year) in Trinidad and Tobago. Additionally, there were 895 non-fatal injuries in 2017 and 686 in the year 2014.
This short course is designed to describe the theory, processes, practices, and procedures that enable a health and safety practitioner to effectively carry out an Accident Investigation.
The course is delivered asynchronously and synchronously. You can view the video recordings at your own pace and if you are comfortable you can sit the exam to receive a certificate. You are also entitled to a one-hour synchronous tutorial session to discuss the lessons.
